Safety Specialist

Spuncast, Inc. is a contract manufacturing company specializing in cylindrical castings. Since 1976, our campus in Watertown, WI has grown to two foundries and two machine shops. We focus on centrifugal castings for a diverse number of industries. We are currently looking for a Safety Specialist/Intern to be a positive PR person for safety in the production areas. Responsibilities: 1. Perform daily Safety walk through of the entire facility giving immediate feedback to team members on PPE and unsafe acts, share issues with lead persons or director of area, and document issues to look for trends. 2. Refresh monthly safety topics. This would include videos on the TV and tool box meetings with every shop department on every shift. 3. Annual safety trainings of: Heat Awareness, Spill Prevention, Hazardous Waste, Hearing Protection, Emergency Planning, and SDS 4. Continue to complete lock out tag out procedures. 5. Maintain all departmental Safety Data Sheet books. 6. Perform Fork Lift training for new hires, 3-year renewals, and re-training as needed. 7. Perform other similar or related duties as necessary or assigned. 8. Work with little or no supervision Qualifications: Pursuing a 4-year degree in industrial safety or related field Course work in supervision, employee relations, and/or Human Resource 0-1 year experience training in a manufacturing setting Job Type: Part-time - 32 hrs per week or 8 hr days, 4 days a week Work setting: In-person Experience and License Requirements 0-1 year experience training in a manufacturing setting Course work in supervision, employee relations, and/or Human Resources Pursuing a 4-year degree in industrial safety or related field
