CNC Operator/CNC Mill Machinist 2nd Shift

Safety, HS&E, And ComplianceEnforce company safety policies and promote a strong safety cultureEnsure PPE usage, safety training participation, near-miss reporting, and monthly safety inspectionsMaintain OSHA and EPA compliance across assigned operationsEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSet up, fixture, and operate CNC milling machines.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to manufacture parts accuratelySelect appropriate tooling and adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal performancePerform routine troubleshooting and make necessary machine adjustments during productionMeasure and inspect in process and finished parts using precision gauging equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.Verify product quality and ensure conformance to specifications.Maintain proper documentation of machining operations as required.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costsDocumentation & ReportingRecord production checks, inspection results, and issues in Excel or ERP systems (Invex)Maintain accurate data for Recorded time to a job, traceability, scrap tracking, and production reportingCommunicating defects, delays, or equipment concernsAdditional ResponsibilitiesPerform basic material handling, including loading/unloading partsClean and prepare parts after machiningSupport inventory handling and part staging as neededAssist with basic inspection processes and packaging of finished goodsSkills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of CNC milling processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsSolid shop math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and metric/imperial conversionsAttention to detail and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWork EthicReliable, self-motivated, and production-driven mindsetTakes ownership of tasks and work areaCommunication & TeamworkEffective communication with operators, leads, and support teamsAbility to work cross-functionally across multiple departmentsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED Required2 years of CNC machining experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyFrequent handling tools and partsGood vision, including close-up focus, required for inspection workWork EnvironmentManufacturing shop environmentExposure to moving machinery, noise, and metalworking conditions
