This role helps lead, coach, and develop team members while upholding company values of being positive towards people and pets, eager to learn, team-oriented, and accountable.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in supervising and directing staff to meet sales, service, and operational goals.Provide coaching, training, and feedback to employees to support growth and performance.Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns.Help manage inventory, merchandising, and product displays to maximize sales opportunities.Monitor loss prevention practices and maintain store safety and security standards.Support scheduling, timekeeping, and daily task assignments to ensure smooth operations.Act as manager-on-duty in the absence of the Store Manager, making key decisions as needed.Contribute to a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and accountability.Assist with retention of employees.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.QualificationsPrevious retail or supervisory experience required; assistant manager experience preferred.Strong leadership and team development skills.Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications.Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.Work EnvironmentThis position requires a hands-on presence in the store, frequent interaction with customers and employees. Evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
