ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a full-time locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 3 6-month assignment beginning February or March, with potential extension into 2026 and possible permanent hire. This hospital-based role covers inpatient surgical care, including OR, ICU, ER, and floor rounding. The position supports coverage due to a leave of absence and provider departure. Dates & Schedule Coverage Start: February/March 2026Assignment Length: 3 6 months, with potential extension into 2026Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PMCall: Nights and weekends (approximately 7 8 calls per month)Call Rotation: 1:3Average Cases: 2 cases per daySetting: Hospital-based (OR, ICU, ER, inpatient floors)Trauma Level: Level IAnnual ER Volume: 85,000 visitsOperating Rooms: 3Credentialing Timeline: daysEMR: EPIC Job Details & Responsibilities Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures for adult and geriatric patientsProvide inpatient care including OR cases, ICU management, and ER/floor roundingParticipate in call rotation (nights/weekends)Utilize EPIC for documentationWork alongside a full complement of ancillary staffRequired Procedures Include:CABG (including Off-Pump and Redo Coronary Revascularization)Arterial revascularization (Internal Mammary, Radial, Gastroepiploic arteries)Descending and thoracic aortic aneurysm repairHeart valve repair and replacement (including Mitral Valve Repair)CoreValve System proceduresTube thoracostomyPericardial window Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Required)Active Connecticut Medical License (Required; CT only)BLS and ACLS Certifications (Required)Local Provider Requirement: Mileage reimbursement only; address required at submissionSelf-Query NPDB: Completed within one month of presentation (Required)Experience in high-acuity, Level I trauma hospital settings preferred
