Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer - Senior Project ManagerDepartment: Architecture & DesignEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: TexasCompensation: $90,000 - $155,000 / yearDescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer - Senior Project Manager to lead complex electrical engineering projects from concept through completion. This role involves managing multifaceted residential and commercial projects, overseeing system design, mentoring technical teams, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in electrical and ICAT systems, strong leadership in project management, and a proven ability to coordinate across disciplines. Success in this position requires exceptional communication, creative problem-solving, and the ability to guide projects through every phase, from design to construction.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee Electrical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity for residential and commercial projectsPrepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept reportDesign Electrical systems including but not limited to electrical distribution, transfer switching, UPS, grounding and bonding, lighting and control systems, life safety and emergency systems, and fire alarm.Design for ICAT services including but not limited to communication systems, AV systems, security access and monitoring systems, equipment, and structured cabling.Write construction specificationsAnalyze customer design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutionsEnsure professional quality services in all facets of workCoach and mentor a project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverablesManage a team to ensure cost effective, safe, and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectationsManage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for successWork with clients to deliver the end projectPrepare and review specification and concept reportsProvide mentoring to technical staff, assigning duties as requiredVisit the site once under construction when requiredProvide quality and cost control during the design and construction processMaintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilizationEscalate and identify the need for additional services and feesAssist with Shop drawing reviews as requiredOvertime as requiredSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseUndergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical or other relevant engineering discipline is preferred.Other professional qualifications will be considered coupled with relevant experienceRegistration as a Professional Engineer (P.E)Completion of a degree or diploma in project management will be considered an assetLEED accreditation is an assetExperience and Requirements:5+ years of industry related experienceConsulting engineering background is preferredStrong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers, and manufacturersMechanical and Electrical coordination experienceConstruction experience will be considered an assetDemonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methodsFlexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlinesHighly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skillsAdvanced interpersonal, team building, leadership, and organizational skillsAble to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper managementAble to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholdersBenefitsComprehensive health insurance with Health Savings Account (HSA)Dental and Vision coverage.Company-funded short-term and long-term disability coverage.Company-sponsored life insurance.Robust 401(k) retirement plan.Flexible work schedule opportunities.
