Controller
Position Overview: The Controller's basic function is to drive the day-to-day financial transaction process while enforcing accounting procedures. These functions include but are not limited to the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes including applicable journal entries, and accounting reports. An equally important function of the Controller is to assure, through the recommendation, installation, and monitoring of controls, that information, ideas, and recommendations are provided to the CFO on a timely basis, in order that prudent financial decisions can be made for Earthlight Technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing AP, AR, and payroll functions.
Work directly with CFO & oversee Accounting Team.
Assist in preparing various financial statements.
Reconciling multiple bank statements.
Following up with customers and partners.
Ensure all invoices for Commercial Sales are accurate, sent promptly, aligned to contracts and paid within terms.
Manage automated bank fraud detection system.
Calculate commissions for Commercial Sales team and 1099 Contractors.
Track, prepare and file 1099's.
Prepare multi-state sales & use taxes.
Review and recommend adjustments to monthly financials in conjunction with CFO.
Cost accounting, job costing and profit margin analysis.
Provide support and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process.
Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data and enhance the company's value.
Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate terms. Ensure all vendors meet all requirements of contract agreements prior to payment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
Master's Degree a plus or in lieu of experience
2+ years of accounting experience, or bookkeeping
Construction environment & Small-Midsized Business experience a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate knowledge of Excel
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting program
Strong interpersonal skills
Organization & Time Management
Salary: $105,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
