1st Shift Fabricator

Available Job: Fabricator Number of Openings & Shift: 1 Opening - 1st shift Starting Pay: Dependent on experience Brief Description: This position will be using blueprints and jigs as well as verbal instruction to build weldments, subassemblies and full assemblies to fabricate equipment. This position also supports the development of new products to be run through weld cells. Responsibilities: Perform welding and fabrication operations to a high quality and safe standard Weld in and out of position, up and down hill (90% 1F/2G positions) Will be required to learn digital system for prints, work instructions and labor reporting Operates press brakes, cut off saws, shears, forming machine, welders, etc. safely and efficiently Work with sheet metal, metal tubes, plates angle iron and miscellaneous materials to cut/mold to prints and fabricate subassemblies Aids Engineering in the development of fixtures/ and all things associated with new products Review prints for part and weldment conformance Maintains a clean and organized work area Actively ensures that all safety requirements and procedures are met at all times, and escalates if necessary to upper level management, supervisor, etc. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience in production fabrication with steel - carbon required and aluminum preferred 4 years minimum welding sheet metal preferred, structural welding experience acceptable Understand MIG and TIG welding set-up & procedures(GMAW/GTAW certificationm strongly preferred.) Must have excellent math skills related to design and tooling. (Testing may be required.) Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. (Testing may be required.) Must have the ability to read weld symbol (Testing may be required.) Must pass 1G/2F company administered weld test and practical weld machine setup demonstration Requirements: Ability to pass skills test (see above for specifics) Must be able to use tablets and basic computer software Ability to calculate, reason, problem solve, and read and write in English Frequent standing, walking, gripping, and reaching, as well as occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulder level Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance Ability to work overtime, as needed MARSHALLTOWN offers comprehensive total rewards packages to include competitive wages, matching 401k retirement plans, dental, Traditional and High Deductible Health Plans with employer HSA contributions, immediate vacation eligibility, just to name a few...
