JobID: 311 Position Type: Contracted Services/Subject Matter Expert Date Posted: 8/21/2024 Location: IDLA - Remote Location Date Available: Negotiable Closing Date: Until Filled Description – Subject Matter Expert - Freelance Position (Temporary, Contracted Services) Position Summary: An IDLA Freelance Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a seasoned educator and skilled writer who develops high-quality curriculum content for IDLA students. The ideal candidate will proficiently use various writing styles suitable for an LMS, and have substantial teaching experience in our priority specialty areas. Preferred Specialty Areas: Science, Mathematics, Computer Programming, Accounting, Computer Networking, and Cybersecurity, CTE specialties. Duties and Responsibilities: Complete an IDLA SME training course. Develop and align curriculum content, including activities, assessments, and rubrics, with state standards. Write clear and accessible online course lessons. Collaborate with content team members to enhance lesson quality and implement necessary revisions. Employ diverse learning and instructional strategies. Ensure confidentiality and independent work management. Establish productive relationships with various stakeholders. Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the content area. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent professional interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated proficiency in multitasking with keen attention to detail. Desired Qualifications: Idaho Teaching Certificate. Experience in educational technology, online learning, and curriculum instruction. Background in technical writing or related fields. Minimum three years of classroom experience and two years in educational curriculum development. Familiarity with Schoology or similar LMS. Compensation and Commitment: Part-time, freelance role. Initial training course required, with compensation of $3,600 upon successful completion. Potential for future contracts based on initial performance. Location: Remote work, requiring a home office setup with reliable internet and necessary equipment.
