Network Security Specialist

Job Title: Sr Palo Alto Security Expert / LeadLocation: Houston TX / TexasBasic Purpose: Provide expert level technical support for designing, maintaining, and optimizing global network security systems. Create and enforce global network security standards, guidelines, and procedures. Implement secure network architectures and solutions. Perform technology and operational risk assessments, identifying control gaps and risky or problematic configurations. Work with stakeholders to drive remediation of security issues. Promote security awareness and advise on secure operational practices across IT and the organization. Provide technical and operational leadership for a team of network security professionals.Experience/Skills:Must have proficiencies:Expert - Palo Alto Firewalls & Prisma Access security, operations & designExpert - Network security standards, methodologies, and best practicesExpert - Understanding of networking protocols, threats, and risksExperience and proficiency with network access control concepts & methodologiesProven track record designing & operating secure network technologies5+ years experience in network security operations and designNice to have proficiencies:Forescout network access controlCloudflare & F5 WAFSecure routing & switchingScripting & automationRADIUS / TACACS authenticationNetwork segmentation technologiesCompetencies:Must possess a security mindset, well versed in security principles and best practicesMust possess efficient and effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsProfessional security certifications are a plus (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, etc.)Technology certifications are also a plus (PCNSA, PCNSE, etc.)Ability to work within a team and with limited direction and guidanceStrong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and time management skillsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
