Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist/Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the AASHTOWare Project’s ActiveReports tool and Data Analytics module. This remote, one-year contract position presents an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in application development and system specifications to modernize the Department of Transportation (DOT) processes.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the expert on AASHTOWare Project modules, particularly ActiveReports and Data Analytics.Define system specifications and oversee the migration of legacy applications to a modern web-based solution.Collaborate closely with Product Managers and document specific use cases for NCDOT that involve reporting and analytics tools.Develop Use Cases, Test Cases, and Test Scripts, and perform UX modifications using XML.Utilize SQL for reporting and work with the Grape City development tool within an Agile development framework.Ensure quality governance of reports, dashboards, and other visualizations while adhering to AWP Best Practices and Standards.Provide technical research and troubleshooting support to both the development team and DOT business units.Engage with NCDOT leadership to gather insights and demonstrate system capabilities.Track project milestones and manage communication between technical teams and business customers.Coordinate validation and rollout of functional components, ensuring robust customer training and support.Required SkillsStrong understanding of application development and architecture principles.Proficiency in SQL for analytics and reporting.Experience with developing Use Cases, Test Cases, and Test Scripts.Familiarity with UX modifications using XML.Knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM, and experience in an Agile development lifecycle.Expertise in AASHTOWare Project modules including Preconstruction, CRL, and Data Analytics.Strong analytical skills for constructing complex queries and dashboards.Excellent communication abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.QualificationsProven experience with AASHTOWare Project modules and DOT processes.Significant background in application development and data analytics.Familiarity with DOT preconstruction processes, certified payroll, and market analysis.Ability to provide training and comprehensive support to users.Career Growth OpportunitiesThis role offers the potential for significant professional development within a reputable organization in the transportation sector.
