Quality Control Manager - Civil Engineering

Quality Control ManagerThe Quality Control Manager, as a member of our growing Quality Assurance team, will serve as a technical expert and will lead the QA/QC process of land development plan submissions. This person will play a key role in improving technical standards, value engineering, and eliminating design issues before and during construction. The QC Manager will also work closely with staff to develop a culture of technical excellence. This position will support the entire company and can be based in any of our offices. If you are not local, flexible arrangements can be made.ResponsibilitiesPerform independent technical review in the areas of Land Development Plan Design, Stormwater Management Design, Water and Sanitary Sewer Design and Erosion and Sedimentation Control DesignIdentify potential design or constructability issues and provide value engineering for solutions that meet project requirements while reducing costsEnsure the quality of project deliverablesWork collaboratively with the project managers and multi-disciplined design teamsVerify that design and code requirements have been defined by the project engineer and have been indicated on the design documentsLead regular training and development sessions to foster an environment of technical excellenceProvide vision and guidance to the firm in the area of Design and Production of technical deliverablesPerform periodic evaluations of staff to identify training needs within assigned region and report to Head of QAAssist in training material preparation and lead training as needed. Assist in improvement of design tools, processes and proceduresBalance your own workload in a deadline driven environmentManage a small team in futureTravel to other offices when necessaryPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred10+ years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential and/or commercial/industrial/office site design and permitting experience).Professional Engineer (PE) registration is a plusValid driver's license.Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesFamiliar with AutoCAD/Land Development DesktopFamiliar with BlueBeam for mark upsIn depth knowledge of the planning and zoning processAdvanced skill level in design capabilitiesAdvanced problem-solving skillsProficient grading and drainage design skillsUtility design experience including pump station and force mainsProficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and ProjectExcellent written and oral communication skillsIndependent and critical thinking abilitiesAbility to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoringWhy Join Dynamic?At Dynamic, we believe great careers are built through meaningful work, continuous growth, and strong relationships.
