With comprehensive benefits and competitive wages, we trust that you will find all the resources you need here to be successful.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Transportation Officer serves as a lead worker assigned by the Transportation Manager in high-risk operations and high-profile federal government transportation contracts and must possess a CDL Class B with a ("P") passenger endorsement. It also is responsible for securely transporting detainees between destinations and ensuring that the vehicles used for transportation activities are safe and properly maintained. Finally, this position assists management when unexpected problems arise to develop effective and efficient solutions.Primary duties and responsibilities include:Assisting management when unique or unexpected problems arise while transporting detainees. Helps to develop effective and efficient solutions.Reviewing all vehicle inspection reports. Developing summaries for Transportation management and noting commonalities from the reports. Suggesting solutions as necessary.Ensuring that all permits and licenses for all assigned vehicles are in order.Verifying that vehicles have the necessary safety equipment before initiating a trip. Notifying the Transportation management if there are problems before assignments.Properly tracking DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.Assisting with interviewing and screening of applicant Transport Officers when required.Reviewing all necessary paperwork and reports in an accurate and thorough manner. Ensuring that all reports are turned into the Transportation management according to described policies and procedures.Ensuring that all missions meet or exceed PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures while transporting detainees.Performing other duties as assigned.Facility OverviewMinimum requirements include:High school diploma or equivalent certification.Must meet applicable state employment requirements and be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.Six (6) months of experience as a law enforcement officer, military police officer, or security officer performing duties related to the detention of civil or administrative detainees.One (1) year of driving experience in a transportation capacity.Valid Driver's License.A valid 'Class B' or 'Class C' Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement within 6 months of appointment, with no preventable accidents, suspensions for driving convictions, DWI/DUI incidents, or more than two moving violations in the past three (3) years.Demonstrated leadership experience.State Firearms License (Based on state requirements).State Security Guard License (Based on state requirements).Preferred: Completion of an approved training program resulting in certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.Preferred: Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.Equal Opportunity Employer
