Hard Hat Courage | HomeConstruction Hike for Hope EventEvent Date: Saturday, June 27Event Location: Berkeley, CAPosition OverviewWe are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Committee Members to support the planning and execution of our Construction Hike for Hope on June 27th. Committee members play a vital role in ensuring the event runs smoothly, meets fundraising goals, and delivers a meaningful experience for participants and sponsors. This is a volunteer leadership opportunity ideal for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, event planning, and supporting a great cause. It's a bonus if you have connections to the construction industry or related industries.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & LogisticsAssist with route planning, permits, and site coordinationSupport vendor coordination (e.g., tents, signage, refreshments)Help organize event-day schedules and volunteer assignmentsSponsorship & FundraisingIdentify and solicit sponsors and in-kind donorsSupport outreach to construction industry partners and local businessesAssist with participant fundraising encouragement and trackingMarketing & OutreachPromote the event through professional and community networksSupport social media outreach and email promotionAssist with recruitment of hikers and teams in creative waysEvent-Day SupportParticipate in setup and breakdownServe as an ambassador for the eventEnsure a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for all attendeesTime CommitmentAttend bi-weekly committee meetingsProvide support on event day: June 27thEstimated commitment is flexible, but we're looking for someone to commit 2-5 hours per week leading up to the event.QualificationsStrong communication and teamwork skillsReliable and organizedPassion for community engagement and mission-driven workConnections within the construction industry (a plus, but not required)Prior event planning or fundraising experience (preferred, but not required)Benefits of ServingExpand your professional network, both within and outside the construction industryMeet & get to know other people impacted by suicideGain event planning and fundraising experienceSupport an impactful community eventContribute meaningfully to a cause that makes a difference
