Position DescriptionPosition OverviewResponsible for assisting Lock shop Supervisor of all duties required for installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of all types of door hardware equipment and systems in multiple buildings or facilities dispersed throughout Harris County. Performs duties alongside the team as a working supervisor.Job Duties/Responsibilities Assist in supervising and directing all duties required for the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of all types of door hardware and systems, machinery, and equipment in the assigned buildings. Assists and trains less experienced co-workers, employee training and development, employee management, and conflict resolution. May be required to drive personal or county vehicle to various work sites. Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with tenants, peers, subordinates, and management. Communicates effectively with subordinates to ensure locksmith projects are completed as directed. Maintain a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the duties of Locksmith Services. Manages Administration of key control and accountability for tools. Maintain On-Call schedule and will be required to be on-call after hours. May work outside in all kinds of weather with no air conditioning or heating. May be exposed to dust, dirt, and paint fumes, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience Five years of experience/general knowledge in commercial and/or residential lock work. Must maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License. Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs) Must maintain courteous, helpful behavior at all times . Must communicate diplomatically on a routine basis with elected and appointed officials, contractors, vendors, and tenants. Must have a good command of the English language and good knowledge of filing, spelling, and math. Must understand and operate all key-related machinery, including all key duplicator and/or code-cutting machines and all locking installing equipment. Must be computer literate. Must understand and follow blueprints and oral and written instructions with a basic understanding of electronics and /or electrical door controls. A general working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of security systems, and access control systems is preferred Must pass security checks and drug tests, as r equired .
