Situated near Mobile, AL, Kauhale Port City is a bright, suburban assisted living and memory care community.Position: Director of WellnessThe ideal candidate will be a high-energy, self-driven leader who empowers and motivates those around them. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day clinical services of a large assisted living campus; this includes providing the supervision necessary to lead, coach, and mentor direct care staff within the community.Responsibilities:Manages the day-to-day clinical services to ensure residents' healthcare needs are metSupervises and provides leadership, as well as coaching, to direct care staff within communityResponsible for leading clinical leadership team; this includes Resident Care and Staffing CoordinatorsEmpowers clinical leaders to supervise, direct, and motivate staff within their oversightAssigns and directs work of clinical leaders and subordinates; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problemsProvides training and education to caregivers upon orientation and on an ongoing basis with classroom in-services and situation-specific trainingProvides appropriate guidance for employees by planning work schedules, assigning work duties while on shift, and directing daily work.Monitors and reviews documentation performed by caregiving staffParticipates in pre-admission screening of prospective new tenantsPerforms on-site evaluations of residents admitted to alternate care environments for treatment and maintains contact with resident families with the intent of returning residents to the community.Assures that required documentation is completed prior to or upon resident admission, including nursing assessments, service plans, and other assigned formsEvaluates resident documents, and changes in condition, and notifies the Executive Director, resident's physician, and resident's legally responsible party/family of the resident's condition and reactionsFacilitates continuity of care for those residents receiving home health care, hospice services, and other third-party healthcare-related servicesParticipates in or leads meetings relevant to resident care issues, such as Service Plan meetings, involving appropriate parties as neededEnsures that any incident reports are completed promptly and adequately.Participates in campus Quality Improvement activitiesQualifications:Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the stateMinimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in a CBRF, assisted living, or similar residential care settingSupervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise staffExcellent communication and human relations skillsAbility to maintain and protect the confidentiality of informationKnowledge and/or experience in the areas of geriatric nursing or can learn quicklyCaring and compassionate dispositionCPR CertifiedSkills:Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mailMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards tenants, staff, and vendorsDisplays ability to implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration departmentDemonstrate dependable, regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamShares on-call and manager on duty responsibilities/shifts as requiredAble to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursIf you're looking to grow in an environment supported by strong, stable leadership and a positive, team-focused culture, we invite you to join us!
