Accountant – San Rafael – Temp to hire - $40 - $54/hourSan Rafael based nonprofit organization has an immediate need for an experienced Accountant to join their team. This position is responsible for a wide scope of general accounting duties, including client fund management and accounts payable. This is a great opportunity to work with other like-minded individuals committed to making a positive impact in the community.Start Date: ASAP within 1-2 weeks (pending clear criminal background check)Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PMLocation: Fully onsite in San RafaelBackground Check: Clear criminal background check required prior to startAccountant Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with HR, manage employer benefit contributionsPrepare and post month-end journal entriesReconcile credit card expenses and post to the general ledger monthlyManage client fund receipts, process approved checks, improve client fund management and reportingProcess all direct deposits, cash receipts, and donationsPrepare bank reconciliations and reconcile selected balance sheet accountsLog checks and credit card receipts, indicating general ledger and grant allocationsProcess accounts payable invoices and related documentationAssist with internal and external financial reports, tax filings, and maintain organized accounting recordsAccountant QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field3+ years of full-cycle accounting and cash/bank account management experienceProficiency in accounting software, Sage is ideal, and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentCommitment to service orientation for clients, staff, and community
