Knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success.Manager, Corporate AccountingDescriptionThe Accounting Manager will lead the company’s core general accounting and financial reporting processes, including month-end close, financial statement preparation, balance sheet integrity, audit coordination, and internal controls. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while driving process improvements and developing a high-performing accounting team. The Accounting Manager is an internal role that reports directly to the Controller and works closely with the finance and accounting team and partners with various team members throughout the organization.ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysisReview key balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate fluctuations, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial resultsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesCoordinate the annual external audit process, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentationDevelop and maintain accounting policies, close procedures, and internal controls to support accurate financial reportingIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability across the accounting functionSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff through coaching, goal setting, and ongoing performance managementPartner cross-functionally with FP&A, payroll, HR, and operations to resolve accounting matters and support business initiativesSupport special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives as neededBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting and/or industry3+ years of people management or supervisory experienceRequired Skills And ExperienceStrong technical accounting knowledge with demonstrated ability to apply US GAAP in a complex business environmentProven ability to manage and execute the full close cycle with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvementExperience preparing financial statements and audit-ready schedules for external reviewTrack record of developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies in a structured, fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and communicate findings clearly to non-accounting stakeholdersExperience managing and developing junior accounting staff, with a collaborative and coaching-oriented leadership stylePreferred Skills And ExperienceCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferredCombination of public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) and industry accounting experienceExperience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with evolving processes and systemsExperience with manufacturing, inventory accounting, or cost accountingHands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting toolsBackground in aerospace, defense, or government contracting preferredFamiliarity with cost accounting standards (CAS) or government contract accounting a plusAdditional RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to use a computer to complete assignmentsAbility to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresenceAbility to pick up to 50lbsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environmentAbility to travel up to 25% of the time$130,000 - $175,000 a yearThis is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
