Automation & Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for cutting-edge renewable energy projects. Leverage your expertise in PLC programming and SCADA systems to drive innovation and efficiency. Responsibilities: Craft and deploy PLC-based control systems tailored for renewable energy initiatives. Program PLCs using diverse methodologies, including function blocks and structured text, ensuring optimal performance. Configure and sustain SCADA systems to oversee and manage PV and BESS installations effectively. Design and assess HMI interfaces, enhancing user experience and system control. Generate comprehensive control narratives and documentation to guide project execution and maintenance. Conduct thorough Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate system readiness and compliance. Resolve control system challenges, implementing innovative solutions to maintain operational integrity. Work closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee seamless project delivery and alignment with objectives. Qualifications: Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and industrial control systems. Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as function blocks and structured text. Solid grasp of communication protocols including Modbus, DNP3, and OPC. Preferred Skills Familiarity with Schneider M340 or M580 PLCs. Experience with Ignition HMI platform for interface development. Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, specifically solar PV and battery storage systems. Understanding of electrical power systems and instrumentation principles. Experience across the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to final commissioning.
