Overview
In this role you lead MBSA/MBSE and architecture analysis to enable informed decisions across mission and enterprise systems. You collaborate with government sponsors and cross-functional teams to translate needs into integrated digital engineering artifacts and actionable recommendations. You drive digital transformation through a comprehensive digital thread and robust architecture governance. This position offers scope to shape system architectures, assess performance and risk, and mentor junior engineers in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.

ResponsibilitiesApply MBSE/MBSA and Digital Engineering to develop and evolve architectures for complex systemsConduct architecture analyses, trade studies, and capability assessments to compare architectures and technologiesDevelop and maintain authoritative digital engineering artifacts that ensure traceability across needs, concepts, architectures, and verification activitiesLead stakeholder engagements, workshops, architecture reviews, and engineering working groupsSupport requirements management, interface and architecture governance, and configuration managementAdvise sponsors and program managers on strategies, roadmaps, and modernization approachesContribute to acquisition planning and technical evaluation through SOWs, SOOs, and related documentsMentor junior engineers and help advance department capabilities through innovative MBSA/MBSE approaches
Key requirements8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master's, or PhD with 3+ yearsExperience applying systems engineering to complex, mission-focused systemsProficiency in system design, architecture modeling, requirements development, interface analysis, integration planning, verification and validationFamiliarity with MBSE and traditional systems engineering approachesAbility to develop or review architecture products, technical plans, and acquisition artifactsStrong analytical, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic sponsor environmentTop-Secret clearance (or ability to obtain within 1 year)strong communicationcollaborative teamworkproblem-solving and analytical thinkingMBSEMBSADigital Engineering
