Financial Reporting SupervisorLocation – Annapolis, MD (Hybrid) SUMMARYThe Financial Reporting Supervisor position is a newly created opportunity within a full-service financial institution headquartered in Maryland with over $6 billion in assets and will serve as a key member of the financial reporting team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a team of accounting staff and will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes to drive our organization's success. Based out of the company’s corporate office on a hybrid basis, the financial reporting supervisor position will offer a compensation in the $145,000 to $155,000 range as well as a full suite of benefits as well as a community-oriented collaborative team environment. Candidates should have 5 or more years of professional experience including SEC reporting experience with ideally exposure to financial services or banking organizations whether direct or through public accounting engagements. Job Description Assist with the period-end close (month, quarter, and year-end)Prepare financial statement schedules and notes preparation (10K, 10Q, XBRL)Call report preparation and reconciliation to external/internal reportsAccount reconciliations, general ledger entries, data compilation and analyses ensuring accuracy and timely deliveryPreparation and filing various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to SEC, FDIC, FHLB, FRB, IRS, and State of MarylandManage schedule for all filing deadlines and close procedures and ensure compliance to procedural and reporting standardsTroubleshoot financial reporting issues, complete audits, identify trends to determine improvement plansProvide Internal and External Audit requests including Supervisory and Regulatory AuditMaintains documentation of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX)Managing all ad hoc projects and assist management on all accounting, and financial reporting activitiesParticipate in various educational opportunities and attend various conferences and update knowledge efficientlyComplete required regulatory training on or before the deadlines as assignedCoordinates and supervises the daily activities 1-2 junior reporting analystsCooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, SAFE Act, etc.; ensures that the office and all personnel adhere to the same.Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in the field of accounting or financeMinimum of five to seven years of experience in private or public accountingCPA or CFA preferredExperience working with a public company or banking industryPrior experience with SEC reporting whether direct or through public accounting client engagementsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and be familiar with accounting software like Jack Henry and reporting tool Workiva.Experience supervising fellow team members, and building a rapport with team members, customers, senior management and vendorsAbility to work on a hybrid basis out of the company’s Annapolis, MD office 3 days a week.
