This may include the development of engineering design and drawings for details, assemblies, and installations to support the aircraft repair, modification (STC), and/or Parts Manufacture Approval (PMA) programs. This position performs tasks as assigned by an Engineering Lead or Engineering Management. This position interacts with different members of internal and external organizations.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssists with the development and design of repairs to aircraft structure, systems, and interior parts to support aircraft maintenance.Drafts 3D models of repair parts.Researches aircraft configurations, technical specifications, and/or Statement of Work to ensure proper interface between aircraft structure, systems, and interior products.Develops Engineering Orders and Work Instructions for aircraft installations.Provides written technical accomplishment instructions for aircraft modifications to maintenance, customer, and regulatory authorities as necessary.Generates accurate LOPAs and General Arrangement drawings.Attends team meetings and training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.Provides a report after three months listing accomplishments, lessons learned and suggestions for improvement to future Engineering internships.Performs other duties as assigned.Education And ExperienceMinimum of two full years’ coursework toward Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering).Must be formally accepted into an engineering program at an accredited institution of higher learning.SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD experience preferred.Physical Effort And DexterityWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up.
