Network Specialist

DescriptionThe Network Specialist Level I Technician position is a key position within the Company’s Operations Department. This person will be responsible for providing Level I and potentially some Level II troubleshooting, network management and technical assistance in the areas of our optical transport, Internet, and IP-based networks. The Network Specialist Tech will interface directly with customers.RequirementsServe as the first point of contact for customers, partners, and vendors in the event of an outageProactive network alarm monitoring entire network, including Tier1 monitoring and troubleshooting for regional fiber optics companyAnalyze data to resolve network problemsAble to professionally, promptly, and consistently keep all stakeholders informedProvide documentation, notation, and updates from start to finish of opened ticketsEffectively and regularly communicate outages to other departments, vendors, and customersWorks closely with the Engineering Department and partner companies during maintenance windowsPerform inventory dutiesCareer growth opportunities: engineering, network technician, and outside plantCoordinate projects with other teamsQualificationsAbove average written and verbal communication skillsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasks/assignmentsCustomer facing communication requiredWillingness to increase network knowledgeAbility to professionally resolve customer complaints and escalation issuesGood Time Management SkillsAdditional InformationWork Location : In Office - This is not a remote or work-from-home positionCollege students encouraged to applyMust have valid driver's license.
