Based at Covia’s Independence, Ohio, corporate headquarters, reporting to the Manager, Talent Development, this role closely partners with the Covia Human Resources team, organizational subject matter experts (SMEs), and external partners to support the organization’s talent development and learning objectives. The key responsibilities of this individual contributor are to partner with the business to identify, develop, and deploy engaging learning solutions; provide support for Covia’s learning management system (LMS); and evaluate and utilize technology and AI-enabled tools.The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Key Accountabilities Partner with the business to identify, develop, and deploy engaging learning solutionsUtilizing adult learning principles and instructional design best practices, coordinate the full lifecycle of content creation and instructional design including needs analysis, content curation, asset development, deployment, communication, reporting, and evaluationCollaborate with SMEs across the organization to build new training, transform existing content, and curate third-party solutions with a focus on learner experience and engagementDevelop materials across a variety of formats including interactive e-learning modules, how-to guides, microlearning assets, facilitator slide decks, participant guides, videos, etc. to support a diverse range of delivery methods and initiativesRoutinely evaluate and improve learning solutions based on data, feedback, and evolving business needsManage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and high-quality standardsProvide support for Covia’s learning management system (LMS)Serve as an administrator for Covia’s LMS (UKG Pro Learning, “Polaris”) with a commitment to responsive, high-quality customer service for all usersSupport all system functions including asset cataloging, management, reporting, metrics, training, notifications, etc.Evaluate and utilize technology and AI-enabled toolsProactively identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to leverage technology, with a focus on AI-enabled tools, to enhance the quality and efficiency of how we develop and deploy learning and other Talent Development initiativesAdditional ResponsibilitiesCoordinate workshops, learning events, and other Talent Development programmingAssist with performance management processes (goal planning, check-ins, reviews, organizational talent planning) including HRIS administrationEnsure available Talent Development materials are updated, branded appropriately, and free from errorsDocument, conduct periodic reviews of, and recommend updates to systems, technology, tools, best practices, and work processesProvide partnership and support to the Human Resources teamOther duties as assignedThe Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Minimum QualificationsEducation: bachelor’s degreeExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others, have a customer focus, and work under minimal supervisionAttention to detail, creative thinking, decision-making skills, and flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functionsExperience developing learning, creating content, and working with a learning management systemExperience in corporate or organizational learning environmentsPreferred QualificationsLMS and/or HRIS administration experienceKnowledge of content creation, adult learning principles, instructional design, and project managementProficiency with media (audio, video, e-learning) design and editing toolsBi-lingual or multi-lingual (Latin American Spanish and/or Canadian French)Familiarity with AI, Copilot, Articulate 360, UKG Pro, UKG Pro Learning, SchooxWhat Success Looks LikeHigh-quality, engaging learning programs delivered on timeStrong partnership with business stakeholdersGrowth/Continuous improvement mindset driven by data and feedbackMeasurable improvements in employee performance and engagementWhile this role is primarily focused on training and learning solutions, the successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, readily supporting all Talent Development initiatives as needs ariseCommitment to Our CultureOur core values - Safety, Team, Customers, Growth, and Courage—guide our work every day and will help us achieve our vision: Covia is the leading minerals solutions provider, and through the passion and commitment of our people, we enable customer success—ensuring a sustainable future for our company.All Covia Team Members Are Expected ToLive the Life-Saving Rules.Build high-performing work teams.Focus on customers.Demonstrate a growth mindset.Do the right thing, always.BenefitsExcellent Healthcare Benefits – Medical, Vision, Dental401K with Company MatchingPaid Time Off + Paid HolidaysDisability Plans and Life / AD&DEmployee Assistance Program At Covia, we strive for and support a diverse workforce as we firmly believe this lays the foundation of our success.
