OVERVIEW
A well-established organization in Oakland County is seeking a Tax Analyst to support its corporate tax function. This role offers strong exposure across federal, state, and local tax matters and is ideal for someone coming out of public accounting or an early-stage corporate tax role looking to grow.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tax Analyst will assist with tax compliance, reporting, and research initiatives while supporting ongoing tax operations and process improvements. This individual will work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely filings and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support preparation of federal, state, and local income tax filings
Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and workpapers
Contribute to non-income tax filings (sales & use, property, etc.)
Assist with tax research and documentation of findings
Support responses to audits, notices, and other tax inquiries
Collaborate cross-functionally to gather financial data and ensure accuracy
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA required (or actively pursuing with strong progress)
Approximately 2+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting preferred)
Exposure to corporate tax, including multi-state or consolidated environments
Experience with tax software and strong Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
PREFERRED
Background in a larger public accounting firm
Advanced degree in Taxation or related field
Exposure to corporate tax provision concepts
