ROLE: Design Project Coordinator (Interior Design, Construction, FF&E, CapEx)REPORTS TO: Designer ManagerLOCATION: Corporate Office in Houston / HybridTHE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking a Design Project Coordinator with experience in interior design, construction project management, and FF&E procurement to support mainly multifamily renovation (CapEx) and some ground-up development projects. This role is responsible for end-to-end project coordination, acting as the key liaison between Design, Construction (GCS), Asset Management, vendors, and external partners. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in project scheduling, budgeting, construction coordination, and procurement management. You will play a critical role in delivering on-time, on- budget, high-quality design and construction projects that enhance resident experience, leasing performance, and asset value, while supporting the company's expansion into new development projects.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProject Management & CoordinationManage the full project lifecycle including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction administration, installation, and closeoutDevelop and maintain project schedules, timelines, budgets, and milestone tracking toolsCoordinate cross-functional teams including Design, Construction, Operations, and Asset ManagementDesign & Construction CoordinationCollaborate with interior designers, architects, and engineers on schematic design, design development (DD), and construction documents (CDs)Support renovation planning, including feasibility studies, existing conditions assessments, and phased construction approachesPartner with construction teams and superintendents to ensure design intent is executed accurately in the fieldAssist with punch lists, issue resolution, and project closeoutFF&E Procurement & Materials ManagementLead FF&E procurement (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) and finish selectionsManage purchase orders (POs) via Coupa and track all procurement activitiesEvaluate vendor bids, quotes, samples, and submittalsOversee logistics including manufacturing, shipping, delivery, and installationBudgeting, CapEx & Cost ControlMonitor project budgets and CapEx spending, ensuring alignment with approved financialsPrepare cost reports, change orders, and financial forecastsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiativesDeliver monthly financial and project status reportsStakeholder & Vendor ManagementServe as the main point of contact for vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholdersBuild and manage vendor relationships and performanceProvide executive-level reporting and project updates to leadershipCANDIDATE PROFILEBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field2-5 years of experience in design project coordination, construction project management, or interior design project management; Experience with renovations project coordination is required for this roleStrong knowledge of FF&E procurement and vendor management, Construction processes, sequencing, and renovation planning, CapEx project management and budgetingProficiency in project management and scheduling toolsAdvanced skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Office SuiteExperience with multifamily, commercial, or real estate development projects (renovation and ground-up) is an asset; Experience with Coupa (procurement software), Bluebeam or Sketchup is preferredStrong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skillsProactive, solutions-driven mindsetBENEFITSCompetitive Base Salary and performance bonus.A robust package of Health (Medical (PPO), Dental, Vision), 401k matching, paid vacation suite benefits and employer-paid Short & Long-Term Disability, among other things.Educational Assistance / Reimbursement to support your drive to learn.8 paid hours per year of Volunteer Time Off to serve the organization(s) of your choice.Access to thousands of employee discounts with BenefitHub.COMPANY OVERVIEWVenterra Realty is a growing developer, owner, and operator of multifamily apartments with 90 mixed-use and multifamily communities across 22 major US cities.
