Position Overview As an Engineer II you will work under the supervision of a Senior / Lead Engineer to continue to develop your skills and knowledge process-mechanical engineering and design. You will work on complex projects, assist junior engineers and designers, and contribute significantly to system design and project management. This position requires a higher level of responsibility and accountability compared to Engineer I and is suitable for those with a few years of hands-on experience in the engineering field. You will be expected to take on a more independent and proactive role in the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical and process systems, with a primary focus on advanced technology facilities such as semiconductor and related cleanroom manufacturing environments. Important to note, while this is a remote / WFH position, candidates must reside in the greater Austin, TX area. Key Responsibilities Participate and help lead the design and development of mechanical and process systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping layouts, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards. Perform advanced calculations, modeling, and simulations to optimize system performance and energy efficiency with minimal supervision. Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Pipe-Flo), and ensure accuracy and compliance. Attend, contribute, and at times lead project meetings, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and quality of project milestones. Conduct field walks to gather site conditions, monitor construction progress, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure strict adherence to design specifications. Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, project managers, and business operations to develop proposals, budgets, and schedules, and assist in client presentations. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to Process-Mechanical systems, focusing on innovations in advanced technology sectors. Help support the development of junior-level staff by providing guidance, feedback, and technical expertise. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Process-Mechanical engineering and design, preferably on advanced technology or industrial facilities projects. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam and/or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification. Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure or eligibility preferred. Proficiency in engineering CADD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Pipe-Flo, etc.) with experience developing detailed engineering documents. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive results. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities, with experience in collaborating across multiple teams and disciplines. Preferred: Familiarity with industrial manufacturing facilities with preference for advanced technology industries such as semiconductors, data center, electric vehicle, battery, or photovoltaic advantageous.
