The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of the Company's SEC filings. This position provides support for adherence with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and assists with ensuring the internal control environment is sufficient for certification and public filings. This position demonstrates leadership ability by acting as subject matter expert for certain accounting topics and is an important resource to the broader Standard BioTools accounting and finance team.Description:Preparation and/or review of financial statements, footnotes and other necessary supporting documents for the Company’s quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.)Analysis of key financial statement variances and preparation of MD&A and other of key SEC disclosuresCoordinate with the cross-functional teams (Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, etc.) in the preparation and review of all external financial communications, including press releases and earnings call scriptsResponsible for the preparation of SEC & GAAP checklistsResponsible for drafting technical memorandums on significant and complex proposed and/or completed transactions and issuesAssess the impact of new accounting standardsContribute to the development, maintenance and evolution of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAPAssist in performing financial due diligence on potential acquisition targetsAssessment of target accounting policiesQuality of earnings assessmentsAssist in all aspects of M&A accounting activitiesAccounting policy alignmentAlignment of trial balance and FSLI mappingsPerforming tie-outs and reviews of valuation reportsPreparing pro forma financial models to combine target’s historical financial information with that of SBIAssist in preparation of quarterly disclosure committee materialsCollaborate on financial analysis and forecasting activities, with focus on revenue recognitionAct as a key point of contact with external auditors and serve as an intermediary between the auditors and internal departments (GL/Cost Acctg, AP, Finance, etc). This position demonstrates leadership ability by acting as subject matter expert for certain accounting topics and is an important resource to the broader Standard BioTools accounting and finance team.Experience:Active CPA designation preferred2+ years plus of experience in accounting; Big 4 audit experience preferred1+ year experience in life sciences industry (public or private) preferredThorough US GAAP accounting and financial reporting knowledgeExperience with SEC filings of forms 1OK, 10-QExperience with MS Dynamics 365 a plusExperience with ActiveDisclosure a plusQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or financeAbility to use independent judgment in achieving assigned objectivesAbility to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or applicable regulations.Ability to write reports, accounting, financial and business correspondence and procedures.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managementAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Continually support and display collaboration skills, ethical conduct and attention to detailAdvanced in Microsoft Excel, and proficient in other Microsoft Suite softwareSalary range: $95,000 - $115,000Standard BioTools is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
