Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrical Estimator\nDepartment: Pre-Construction\nReports To: Chief Estimator\nLocation: Greensboro, NC\nPay Range: $75,000 - $100,000\n \nPosition Summary\nThe Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements, helping ensure projects are bid competitively and profitably.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nReview project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimates\nPerform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.)\nSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes\nPrepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlines\nIdentify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams\nMaintain accurate cost databases and historical records\nAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed\nAssist with project handoff to operations after award\n\nQualifications\n\n3+ years of experience in electrical estimating or related field\nKnowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications\nStrong mathematical and analytical skills\nProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft Excel\nExcellent communication and organizational skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nElectrical field experience (electrician, foreman, or similar)\nExperience with design-build projects\nFamiliarity with NEC (National Electrical Code)\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)\n\nKey Competencies\n\nAttention to detail\nTime management and ability to meet deadlines\nProblem-solving and critical thinking\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\n\nWork Environment\n\nOffice-based with occasional site visits\nMay require extended hours during bid periods\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to sit for extended periods\nOccasional travel to job sites\n\nBenefits\n\nMedical/Dental/Vision Options\n8 Company Holidays\nPTO\nCompany provided STD\nCompany provided Basic Life Insurance\n401k with company match\nRoth IRA\nGroup Life, Accidental D&D, others\nEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
