Power BI/Fabric DeveloperContract Opportunity with a Major Financial Services FirmLocation: Hybrid – Newark, NJ (3 days/week onsite)Employment Type: W2 Only (No Corp-to-Corp)OverviewWe are looking for a Developer with strong Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Fabric experience to support data-driven initiatives within a large financial services environment. This role will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to define requirements, support solution design, and ensure high-quality delivery.Responsibilities• Define and document functional requirements aligned with business needs• Partner with lead developers and architects on technical design and solution approach• Develop Functional Specification Documents (FSD), Technical Specifications, and Requirements Traceability Matrices• Translate business, scientific, and engineering requirements into clear, logical statements• Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending efficient and cost-effective approaches• Collaborate with development, operations, and support teams throughout the SDLC• Design and execute detailed system testing plans to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables• Create charts, tables, and diagrams to support analysis and problem-solving• Analyze existing systems, identify logic gaps, and recommend improvementsRequired Skills• Strong experience with Power BI (dashboarding, reporting, data visualization)• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis and querying• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or modern data platforms• Proven experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications• Experience in financial services or insurance environments• Familiarity with data modeling and data architecture concepts• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data or reporting initiatives
