Our user-centric, data-driven approach focuses on creating a seamless experience across different environments.Job SummaryThe Plotter Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining plotter and printing equipment in the plotter and digital print facilities, ensuring smooth production workflows and machine functionality. Main duties include but are not limited to carrying out daily tasks inside the Plotter Room and Digital Print Center as needed, or when requested by Design Development Manager and/or Temp Structural Manager. Duties also include maintaining cleanliness and inventory of substrate materials, hardware, adhesives and inks inside of the Plotter Room, Digital Print Center, and proofing printers.DIRECT REPORTSNoneSCOPE & ACCOUNTABILITYAssistant in plotter room for any and all functioning tasks that are temp structural related.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily cleaning of the Plotter Room including (but not limited to) sweeping up debris, disposing of scrap stock and switching out dumpsters. Keeping items and tools organized and clean. Maintaining substrate stock levels in Plotter Room, Digital Print Center, and Inventory RacksMaintaining inventory of common stock hardware such as, but not limited to plastic clips, twin stick, fiber tubes, joiners, and pole feet, etc. Maintaining HP Latex Printer Paper, and Ink levelsSet up, operate, and troubleshoot large format plotters and related printing/cutting machineryCommunicating any need for repairs to Development Manager, and executing or overseeing repairs (via manufacturer support) as needed Performing the following as requested by the Structural Design Team:Mounting prints to substratesRunning plottersCreating and packing cartons (also as needed for Permanent/DPM Teams) Running any partial or full small-run Production jobs on plotters, as scheduledRecording all completed tasks in departmental Smartsheet schedule promptly and accuratelyKEY INTERFACES (NON-REPORTING)This role interfaces with many departments and requests; including and not limited to the structural design department, preflight department, Account Project Managers, Development Project Managers, and parts of plant production. All request for the plotter tech assistant are first vetted by the structural design manager.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSSuccess in this role will be measured against metrics including but not limited to:Taking directionCommunicationTechnologically adept Organizational skillsQualificationsStrong verbal and verbal communication skills Basic technical training in plotters and digital printing techniques and equipmentAttention to detail and the ability to adhere to established production quality standardsDemonstrates consistent adherence to safety protocols when handling materials, machinery, and tools, ensuring all operations are performed with the utmost care to prevent injury and equipment damage at all timesMust be able to speak and write in EnglishCertification to operate forklifts, mechanical hand trucks, and basic hand jack trainingLEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSThis role requires being able to multitask. Taking responsibility of prioritizing items on the assistant schedule. Taking ownership of inventory. While also taking direction and management from all temporary design team.
