Current California State License as a Registered Nurse required 3.BSN/BA preferred 4. One-year labor experience required or completed extended orientation period, up to a year, meeting all expectations for no labor experience. A nurse with no labor experience can be hired by the Perinatal nurse manager based on current preceptor/orientation availability. 5. BLS upon hire and on-going 6.NRP within 6 months of hire and on-going 7. STABLE preferred 8.Intermediate or Advanced Fetal monitoring certification within 6 months of hire and ongoing. 9. Gnosis annual assessment of EFM principles within 3 months of hire and on-going 10. BFHI (Baby-Friendly) Lactation Education required or within 6 months of hire 11. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members 12. Analytical skills necessary in order to prioritize workload and prepare nursing care plans, implement effective nursing care and develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s body, mind, and spirit 13. Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet 14. Ability to learn Computer software programs applicable to patient care and operations process 15.
