Medical Assistant Paid Training Program at Swedish Medical Group Start date: May 18th, 2026Location: Seattle, WashingtonThe Medical Assistant (MA) training program (Medical Assistant-Registered to Medical Assistant-Certified) is structured to include the following components:Clinical Practice: The MA is required to complete 720 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of an MA Preceptor.Coursework: There are 180 hours of coursework in partnership with Stepful that must be completed virtually on your own time. The MA is also required to attend live virtual classes M & Th 6p-9p. This coursework is unpaid.Internal Skills Labs: The MA must participate in internal skills labs, which are essential for hands-on practice and skill development.Additional MA Training Activities: Participation in all other required MA training activities is mandatory.*Upon successful completion of program requirements and passing the MA certification (MA-C) exam, our new Medical Assistants will be required to apply for open MA-C roles within SMG.*The Associate Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties.
