Controller
Position OverviewThe Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, reporting, inventory and internal controls for the organization. They will also oversee all e-commerce accounting, financial technology, finance staff and day-to-day financial compliance.ResponsibilitiesLead all financial processes and procedures including the close processes; preparation of financials; A/P, A/R and collaborate with the CEO on reporting, forecasting and preparing the annual budget.Coordinate financial activities with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other service providers; serve as the primary contact for financial due diligence and compliance inquiries.Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS); identify and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.Oversee inventory management and cost accounting processes across manufacturing partners, third-party logistics providers (3PL), and Amazon; maintain cost standards within Sage 100 Cloud; perform reconciliations for inventory transfers, production costs, and landed costs; ensure real-time reporting and transparency in inventory levels and valuation.Manage all aspects of financial operations related to Amazon sales and processes, including settlements, fee and chargeback analysis, reimbursement tracking, advertising expenditures, and storage and fulfillment cost management; ensure revenue recognition aligns with GAAP standards; provide detailed profitability reporting by SKU, product category, and sales channel.Oversee technology operations within the finance department, with a focus on Sage 100 Cloud; facilitate integration of Sage with Amazon and third-party logistics (3PL) systems.Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system optimization within finance and accounting operations; provide guidance and training to finance team members on best practices and emerging technologies; deploy AI solutions to automate reconciliation and reporting processes; design and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools; strengthen internal controls and ensure readiness for audits.Align financial planning and cash flow management with executive leadership and operations teams to support organizational objectives and strategic initiatives; collaborate with the supply chain function to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and improve turnover; analyze and provide SKU-level insights to inform pricing strategies and margin enhancement; prepare regular forecasts and scenario analyses to anticipate cash requirements and operational needs; deliver actionable financial performance metrics to drive informed decision-making across the business.Manage, supervise, and support the finance staff by providing ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and regular performance feedback to foster skill enhancement and team growth. Requirements QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience within manufacturing, Amazon/e-commerce, or consumer goods sectors.Demonstrated expertise in multi-location inventory management and cost accounting.Preferred experience with Amazon FBA, FBM, AWD, and 3PL integration workflows.Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central is highly desirable.Proven track record of overseeing and leading finance teams.
