Construction Estimator
Commercial – Estimator
Empire
You’re Good at What You Do…
But you’re tired of feeling boxed in.
Tired of estimates that feel rushed.
Tired of being handed bad information and told to “just make it work.”
Tired of being judged only by numbers, without respect for the thinking, strategy, and experience behind them.
You didn’t get into construction to be a spreadsheet jockey.
You like understanding the why, seeing the whole picture, and knowing your work actually matters.
At Empire, it does.
This Role Isn’t About Punching Out Numbers
It’s about thinking, planning, and setting teams up to win.
We’re looking for someone who naturally:
Thinks three steps ahead
Takes pride in accuracy and clarity
Enjoys solving problems before they become problems
Communicates well with builders, PMs, vendors, and subs
Cares about the reputation behind every bid that goes out the door
You’re the kind of person who wants to stand behind your estimates—because they’re solid, honest, and well thought out.
Who You’ll Be Working With
At Empire, you’ll work alongside people who:
Work hard during the week so they can hunt, fish, race, watch sports, and be with family on the weekends
Value grit, loyalty, and integrity over ego
Believe work should challenge you, but not burn you out
Enjoy the journey, not just the finish line
We don’t believe in chaos, drama, or last-minute fire drills being “just part of the job.”
We believe good planning creates better lives.
How This Job Improves Your Life
? Predictable, year-round work
? A respected voice in pre-construction—not an afterthought
? Real collaboration with PMs, engineers, and leadership
? Opportunities to grow your skillset and your career
? Competitive pay ($22–$29/hour) with strong benefits
? Travel expenses covered when needed (hotel + $50/day per diem)
? A company that values your brain, not just your output
This is the kind of role where you go home feeling proud, not drained.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to know everything, but you need to care.
You likely have:
2+ years of construction estimating (or closely related experience)
A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
The ability to read and truly understand blueprints and specs
Experience with estimating tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage, or similar
Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
Confidence to ask questions, submit RFIs, and challenge unclear scope
You value:
Grit when things get tough
Loyalty to your team
Integrity in how numbers are built
A positive mindset, even under pressure
And actually enjoying the journey, not just chasing the next bid
A Few Logistics (Because They Matter)
High school diploma required
Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred
OSHA 10/30 and First Aid/CPR are a plus, but not required
Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office
This Might Be the Job You’ve Been Looking For
But Didn’t Know Existed.
If you want to be part of a company where your work is respected, your life outside of work matters, and your estimates actually set projects up for success
Empire might be your next move.
And once you’re here…
You’ll wonder why you waited so long.
