Senior Estimator

Title: Senior EstimatorLocation: Richmond, VA or Fallston, MDSalary: $135K +/- DOEClient: A heavy civil, self-performing contractor.On Offer:Competitive base salary, bonus, 401(k), and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.Opportunity to join a privately held, fourth generation heavy civil contractor with strong long term employee retention.Exposure to large scale infrastructure and site development projects across the Mid Atlantic.Long term career progression, including potential path toward Chief Estimator leadership roles.Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects including utilities, structural concrete, excavation, grading, and asphalt paving.Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing strategies.Support bidding efforts across a mix of DOT public works and private sector site development projects.Collaborate with estimating leadership, operations teams, and executives to review risk, pricing strategy, and bid approach.Utilize estimating software including HCSS HeavyJob to build and manage estimates.Contribute to a fast paced estimating team environment and support mentoring of junior staff and interns.Coordinate with regional estimating teams and leadership across multiple offices when required.Requirements:10+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction.Strong background estimating DOT infrastructure, site development, or structural civil work.Experience with scopes such as underground utilities, concrete structures, excavation, grading, or asphalt paving.Proficiency with estimating platforms such as HCSS HeavyJob or similar civil estimating tools.Ability to work in a fast paced estimating environment and manage multiple bids simultaneously.Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with operations and leadership teams.Willingness to work primarily from the office in Richmond, VA or Fallston, MD.Interested?
