Tax Manager

Position OverviewThe Tax Manager will lead and oversee the firms tax compliance and advisory services for business and individual clients. This role is responsible for managing tax return preparation and review, delivering tax planning and consulting services, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local tax laws, and developing a high-performing tax team. The Tax Manager will act as a primary client contact on complex tax matters and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, mentor and develop tax staff, including delegating assignments and conducting performance reviews.Oversee and perform preparation and review of complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and individuals.Conduct detailed tax research and provide clear recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders on tax issues and planning opportunities.Review tax workpapers and final returns for accuracy, completeness and compliance with current tax laws and firm standards.Manage client relationships, serving as primary point of contact for tax-related questions, notices, and audit support.Coordinate and manage tax filing deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely submissions and minimize client exposure.Implement and maintain quality control procedures and best practices for tax preparation and review.Collaborate with other departments (assurance, advisory, payroll) on client projects and tax impact analyses.Identify process improvement opportunities and leverage tax technology to increase efficiency and reduce risk.Prepare and present tax planning strategies and executive summaries to clients and partners.QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required or strongly preferred.Minimum 57 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting with demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns.Proven experience as a Tax Manager or senior tax role with leadership responsibilities, including staff supervision and development.Deep knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws, regulations and filing requirements for corporations, partnerships and individuals.Strong proficiency with tax software and tools (e.g., UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx, Drake) and Microsoft Office; experience with tax research databases.Excellent technical tax preparation and tax reviewing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and quality control.Outstanding communication and client-service skills, including the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-technical audiences.Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Experience providing tax planning and consulting services, including entity selection, restructuring, and tax credits/incentives.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and driving process improvements and adoption of technology.Demonstrated business acumen and ability to work with both business and individual clients.BenefitsHealthDentalVisionPaid time off401(k)Annual discretionary bonus  Email Your Resume In Word ToCorey.Yates@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
