Aquatic Development Group is seeking a General Superintendent to join their team.The selected candidate will report to the Director of Construction and will play a crucial leadership role in managing and ensuring the success of the Construction Group. The duties include overseeing all field operations and directly supervising all project superintendents and field staff. As a Design/Build specialty construction company, the General Superintendent will engage with in-house Project Managers, internal planning, and engineering groups. This role involves providing ongoing management and guidance to all team members. The projects are located across the continental US and vary in size from $2M to $15M.ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage all field construction projects and staff associated with those projects.Collaborate with Superintendents to establish in-field workflow, quality controls, tradesman management, and best practices.Mentor and coach Superintendents to ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, workflow, and output. Coordinate and manage the selection and ongoing oversight of subcontractors and vendors through the Project Managers. Team up with the Director of Construction to ensure each project has sufficient manpower/resources for timely project completion. Work closely with site Superintendents to efficiently manage tight and complex construction schedules for timely and budget-friendly project delivery. Regularly travel to job sites for meetings, updates, and to review quality and procedures. Work closely with the Director of Construction to further companywide annual objectives.Collaborate with internal manufacturing project management teams to coordinate specialty equipment requirements for construction projects.Oversee and manage tools and equipment. In partnership with Human Resources, take responsibility for the organizational talent, training, development, and retention of the construction team (approx. 25) by engaging in the local markets for key skilled positions.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManage Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and all field personnelQualificationsA bachelor’s degree in construction management is preferred, but 5-10 years of actual in-field construction experience, particularly in pool building, is essential. 30-hour OSHA Certification 5-10 years of construction leadership experience on projects over $5-10M in value. Thorough knowledge of construction means and methods, engineering principles/techniques, and the ability to communicate this subject matter with others. Capability to read, comprehend, and interpret project schedules, drawings, specs, and contracts, preferably in pool and/or construction projects. Capability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships at all levels. Project management expertise with the ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and coordination of all facets of a project, specifically on pool and/or construction projects.Problem solver with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Why Aquatic Development Group?
