As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to serve as a key member of their Corporate Finance leadership team.Position SummaryReporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will serve as their trusted business partner and second-in-command, helping oversee the company's accounting operations while leading and developing a high-performing team of accounting professionals. This role offers significant visibility across the organization and provides an opportunity to influence financial reporting, internal controls, and operational excellence within a complex global business.The ideal candidate is an active CPA with strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, publicly accountable environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with the Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting function and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Staff and Senior Accountants, fostering accountability and professional growth.Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, account analyses, and variance explanations.Maintain and enhance internal controls while ensuring ongoing compliance with SOX requirements.Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors.Partner with the company's external CPA firm on federal, state, and international tax matters, including audit support and tax compliance.Review accounting policies and technical accounting issues while driving process improvements and automation initiatives.Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Legal, HR, and executive leadership on strategic finance initiatives.Assist with special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and other corporate initiatives as needed.QualificationsActive CPA license required.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree is a plus.8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or large corporate accounting.Leadership experience - Prior experience leading and developing accounting teams.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.Experience working within a SOX-compliant environment.Experience coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience preferred.Why Join Us?Competitive base salary of $165,000–$185,000Hybrid work schedule (2 days per week in our Teaneck, NJ office)Annual performance bonus opportunityComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchGenerous paid time off and company holidaysCareer advancement opportunities within a global organizationCollaborative leadership team and highly visible role with executive exposureIf you're an accomplished accounting leader looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
