The Lead AI Forward Deployed Engineer will work directly with project teams and oversee the overall delivery and performance over the SDLC for the project. The Project team may consist of data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts in the definition of new analytics capabilities able to provide our federal customers with the information they need to make proper decisions and enable their digital transformation.ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Serve as primary client-facing POC for program status, escalations, and strategic delivery decisions; build durable relationships at all levelsThrive in an autonomous, empowering, and exciting environmentChampion delivery excellence — drive retrospectives, continuous improvement, and lessons-learned practices across the delivery teamStakeholder Communication, run customer working sessions, brief executive sponsors, and write clean status updates for senior stakeholdersLead training and implementation events with the customer teamsIdentify expansion opportunities within the account—surfacing new use cases, supporting renewal conversations, and ensuring successful deployments convert to long-term customer relationshipsMentor junior team members and serve as a culture carrier for disciplined, mission-focused deliveryTechnical Tasks:Own data flow, integration topology, identity model, and deployment architecture across the customer's infrastructurePush field learnings into the core platform so the next deployment is fasterEnsure the platform is configured, secured, and monitored to meet enterprise security and compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, data residency, etc.)Write production code yourself—backend services, data pipelines, APIs, integrationsDeploy from dev through UAT into production—including integration with customer data warehouses, ERP/CRM systems, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)RequirementsU.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is requiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent fields requiredMinimum 4 years relevant work experience leading project teams and providing technical expertise for customer solutions and deliveryExperience leading teams that have deployed and operated applications using IaaS and PaaS on major cloud providers, such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud ServicesStrong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Go, or C++Experience working directly with business and technical stakeholders at mid-market or enterprise accounts—comfortable in both exec-level conversations and deep technical design sessionsFamiliarity with enterprise data environments: cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift), REST/GraphQL APIs, and common ERP or CRM platformsComfort with modern deployment practices: CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), cloud-native services, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent)Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate multi-functionally and improve scalabilityReal passion for developing team-oriented solutions to complex engineering problemsExperience conveying highly technical concepts and information in written/verbal form to technical and non-technical audiencesThe ability to work on multiple concurrent projects is essential. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervisionMust be a team-oriented individual, energetic, result & delivery oriented, with a keen interest on quality and the ability to meet deadlinesDesired SkillsExperience in regulated industries (healthcare/life sciences, manufacturing, energy) where compliance and change management are part of the delivery preferredCustomer training experience preferredPMP, CAPM, or Agile Certification preferredBenefitsCATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. The annual salary range for this role is $175,000-$205,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline.
