We foster an open, friendly work environment and show up for one another every day.Role: Sr. AccountantReports to: Corporate ControllerFLSA: ExemptLocation: El Cajon, CAWhy is this Role Important at Genesee Scientific?The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and financial reporting duties, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and company policies. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.What will you do:Manage and execute key month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned tasksManage accounting transactions and implement system solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reportingBuild cross-functional relationships across departments to support company initiatives, ensuring adherence to policies; identify and escalate key issues to senior leadership, partnering to drive problem-solving and decision-makingRecommend and implement changes to strengthen the internal control environmentContribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses as neededOversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and reconciled regularlyWhat you will bring:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA certification required5+ years of experience in accounting field, 3 years in public accounting preferredStrong understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controlsProficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as SageStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial dataExperience in implementing and improving business processes and systemsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challengesAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skillsPhysical Requirements:Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:Primarily sedentary work performed in a climate-controlled office environmentRegularly required to sit for extended periodsOccasional standing and walking within the office areaAt Genesee Scientific, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
