Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Pocatello, Idaho.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med SurgDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: May 11, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring Epic proficiency and night shift availability in a high-acuity 48-bed unit.DetailsWork in a 48-bed Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital settingDiverse patient population including sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indicationsPatient ratios of 1:6Charting via Epic (experience required)Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00Floating required when competencies align with unit needsRequirementsActive Idaho RN license or compact RN license currently in handCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS must be within 12 months of hire)Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferredEpic EMR experience requiredPrior travel nursing experience preferredAbility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidaysStrong organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for considerationAdditional InformationApplies the nursing process across multiple age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatricsResponsible for thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory and hospital standardsFormer permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a travelerCandidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionNo travel pairs or groups acceptedNo more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientationFirst-time travelers: refer to position details for eligibilityAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-699037.
