We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.About This Role As part of Intersect’s Development team, you’ll help shape the future of clean energy and digital infrastructure by supporting the evaluation and advancement of high-impact projects. This MBA Development Intern role offers the opportunity to work across site selection, market analysis, and infrastructure strategy—leveraging data, tools, and cross-functional collaboration to inform investment decisions. Team Overview This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition. By identifying, evaluating, and developing large-scale infrastructure opportunities, the team sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and innovation. You’ll collaborate with experts across development, finance, and strategy to bring impactful projects to life while gaining exposure to complex, real-world challenges that shape the future of energy and digital infrastructure. What You’ll Do Advance Site & Market IntelligenceAnalyze project sites, market conditions, and infrastructure constraints using GIS and internal toolsEvaluate key factors such as transmission access, land use, and regional dynamics to support project development decisionsBuild Data-Driven Investment InsightsDevelop structured models and reports in Google Sheets to inform investment decisionsSynthesize complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that guide long-term infrastructure strategyEnable Cross-Functional ExecutionCollaborate with development, finance, and strategy teams to support project evaluation and advancementContribute to scalable, decarbonized energy solutions by connecting insights across technical and business domains What You’ll BringCurrently enrolled in an MBA program with strong academic performance, ideally focused on energy, finance, strategy, or real estatePrior experience through internships or work in energy, infrastructure, management consulting, investment banking, or data center developmentProficiency in GIS for site analysis, mapping, and spatial data interpretationStrong skills in Google Sheets, including financial modeling and data analysisExperience using AI tools (such as Gemini) to enhance research, synthesis, and productivityUnderstanding of energy project development fundamentals, including siting, permitting, and grid interconnectionFamiliarity with data center growth trends, energy demand dynamics, and digital infrastructure’s role in decarbonizationDemonstrated ability to build and leverage professional relationships within energy, infrastructure, or investment communitiesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities The following qualities will help you succeed:Curiosity, collaboration, and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsA humble, growth-oriented mindset with openness to feedback and continuous improvementAlignment with Intersect’s values, including long-term thinking, authenticity, and a people-first approachProgram Details Duration: 10 weeksProgram Dates: June 1 - August 14Location: Interns are expected to work in-person from our San Francisco officeMentorship: Each intern will receive guidance from experienced professionals throughout the programCapstone Presentation: Interns will present their final project to executive leadership at the end of the program Compensation$35 USD per hour for undergraduate students.$45 USD per hour for graduate students. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada or the US.
