You’ll coordinate physical security operations, emergency response, executive protection, and contract security teams—while partnering closely with leadership and law enforcement.This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone ready to lead from the front and make real‑time decisions that matter.What You’ll DoYou’ll oversee and coordinate day‑to‑day and emergency security operations across the organization.Key Responsibilities IncludeCoordinate physical security operations and manage contracted armed/unarmed security teamsLead response efforts for high‑risk incidents (e.g., workplace violence, threats, criminal incidents)Review security logs, identify risks, and take immediate corrective actionPlan and lead security drills, active shooter training, and emergency exercisesServe as the lead for executive protection, ensuring safe travel and movement of leadershipManage security projects, including resource planning, equipment coordination, and compliance checksMaintain 24/7 on‑call readiness for alarms, incidents, and emergency eventsPartner with law enforcement, emergency management, and internal teams during incidentsSupport regulatory audits (e.g., TSA, corporate compliance) and ensure adherence to standardsWhat Success Looks LikeSafe, compliant, and well‑coordinated security operationsEffective response to incidents with minimal risk to people and assetsStrong relationships with internal teams and law enforcementPrepared workforce through training, drills, and clear protocolsRequired QualificationsWhat We’re Looking ForAssociate’s degree (or High School Diploma/GED fron an accreditated institution and 7+ years of relevant experience)5+ years of experience in law enforcement, military, or security operationsActive Florida Class “C” and “G” licenses (or ability to obtain within 6 months)Demonstrated ability in incident response, security operations, and risk assessmentExecutive protection, tactical response, security force management, interview, and negotiation skills. Incident Response AssignmentOur community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents.
