OYSTER WORLD RALLY - Captain and crew for Oyster 885An experienced and personable crew team is sought for a one-year-old Oyster 885 operating primarily in the US East Coast and Caribbean from June 2026 onward. The yacht is currently run with four crew and is under new ownership. Couples and individuals will be considered. If a couple team, the Captain/Engineer could be partnered with a Mate, Stew or Chef.Program OverviewSummer / early fall cruising in New EnglandWinter season based in the British Virgin IslandsReturn to New England for Summer 2027Preparation for participation in the Oyster World Rally 2028Vessel may undertake occasional charter activity, though primarily private useOwnership & StyleThe owners are family sailors with a genuine enthusiasm for being involved onboard. They have a background sailing family yachts around the Boston /Bermuda areas, currently sail their own 28ft yacht, and have completed Caribbean bareboat charters.This is a relaxed, family-oriented program rather than a formal superyacht environment. While the owners expect excellent maintenance and professional standards in the upkeep and operation of the yacht, they specifically do not seek overly formal "silver service" hospitality.Crew should be:Warm, approachable, and adaptableComfortable working in a family-focused environmentHappy encouraging owner and guest involvement onboardLow ego and team-orientedProfessional without being overly rigid or formalThe family enjoys cooking and participating in the galley experience, so the ideal chef will be collaborative rather than overly protective of the kitchen.
