Job TypePart-timeDescriptionBASIC PURPOSE:This position is responsible for all aspects of instruction, along with the development and management of a comprehensive NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country & Track & Field program as a component of the college experience, which enhances and supports the students' liberal arts education.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Assists with all phases of the Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & FieldResponsible for complying with all policies and procedures set forth by Assumption University, the NE10 Conference, and the NCAA.Responsible for promoting and maintaining an atmosphere of NCAA compliance amongst coaches and student-athletes.Assists the Head Coach in organizing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating practice sessions, games, and conditioning programs. Utilizes sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices.?Assists in developing and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at their best in the classroom and on playing surfaces.Assists with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting potential student-athletes.Assists in coordinating personal development initiatives and community service activities for all student-athletes.Position requires working weekends and nights.Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes.Participates in public relations activities and works closely with the University's athletic communications, marketing, and fundraising programs. Attends athletic development/alumni functions, academic/athletic honors, and other special events as designated by the University.Represents the sports programs in the community as appropriate.Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country & Track FieldSCOPE:Communicates regularly with students, parents, University personnel, high school coaches, NCAA, and Conference officials.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.
