Assistant Project Manager - High-End Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of luxury residential and hospitality construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional with strong exposure to change order management, cost tracking, and project financials, and a passion for high-quality, design-forward builds. DescriptionProject Coordination & ExecutionAssist in managing all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeoutCoordinate with architects, designers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendorsSupport scheduling efforts and monitor project milestones and deliverablesMaintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and contractsChange Orders & Cost Management (Core Focus)Prepare, review, and track change orders from initiation through approval and executionAnalyze drawings, specifications, and scope changes to assess cost and schedule impactsSolicit, review, and level subcontractor pricing for accuracy and completenessMaintain detailed logs for change orders, potential change orders (PCOs), and budget impactsAssist in negotiating change order pricing with subcontractors and vendorsCollaborate with accounting and project leadership on job cost tracking and forecastingFinancial & Budget OversightSupport the development and monitoring of project budgets and cost reportsTrack commitments, expenditures, and cost-to-complete projectionsAssist in monthly project cost reporting and owner-facing updatesIdentify and flag cost risks or overruns earlyProcurement & ContractsAssist with bid packages, scope review, and subcontractor selectionSupport buyout process and procurement tracking for long-lead itemsEnsure subcontract agreements align with project scope and budgetQuality & Client ExperienceMaintain high standards of quality consistent with luxury residential/hospitality expectationsSupport project team in delivering exceptional client serviceParticipate in jobsite walks and coordination meetings ProfileBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)2-5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in high-end residential or hospitality projectsProven experience managing change orders, cost analysis, and budgetingStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contractsProficiency in project management and cost control software (e.g., Procore, Sage, CMiC, or similar)Advanced Excel skills for cost tracking and analysisExcellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skillsJob OfferCompetitive Salary and Strong (Bonus structure)Complete benefits package Vacation/Sick/Holiday pay401K Desired Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)2-5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in high-end residential or hospitality projectsProven experience managing change orders, cost analysis, and budgetingStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contractsProficiency in project management and cost control software (e.g., Procore, Sage, CMiC, or similar)Advanced Excel skills for cost tracking and analysisExcellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skillsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
