We’ re not going anywhere.Position Type: Full-Time or Part Time, Hourly Non-ExemptDepartment: Mortgage SalesReports To: Mortgage Branch Manager or Sales ManagerPosition SummaryThe Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by developing client relationships, assessing borrower needs, and guiding applicants through the loan process. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring compliance with all internal policies and applicable regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesOriginate mortgage loans in accordance with company guidelines and lending regulationsConduct borrower interviews to gather required financial information and assess eligibilityEvaluate applicant financial documents to determine appropriate loan programsEducate clients on available loan products, terms, and proceduresSubmit complete loan applications to the processing team for approval and underwritingMaintain accurate records in the loan origination systemEnsure timely follow-up with clients, processors, and underwritersCollaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth loan closingsMeet established productivity and quality goalsMaintain knowledge of current lending policies, compliance standards, and industry trendsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferredValid NMLS license as required by state and federal regulationsPrevious experience in mortgage lending or financial services preferredStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office toolEqual Opportunity Statement: Texana Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
