Resident Engineer
Resident Engineer Location is New Orleans , LA - Onsite Long term contract Must have Very Extensive Exp with Yokogawa Systems is needed including Centum VP, Prosafe, Exaquantum , Yokogawa PRM etc we need a very senior level candidate. Accommodation is provided by the client at the Site. JOB SUMMARY: The Resident Engineer is accountable for providing Yokogawa technical support to a large LNG Complex ensuring the integrity of Yokogawa automation system. PRIMARY TASKS: Able to make configuration changes to Yokogawa DCS & SIS Support Plant operation for various maintenance activities Develop KPI for hardware issues and monitor the KPI to ensure high system availability. Provide a dashboard for all system related issues and resolutions Study of operational alarms and offer suggestions for alarm rationalization Escalation of cases to Yokogawa Technical Assistance Center if they cannot be solved by resident engineer Install patches and updates and take part in revision control Provide periodic reports to management Proactively identifies technical opportunities and for control system improvements Able to conceive solutions which integrate Yokogawa systems, other Yokogawa products, and other vendors’ products. SECONDARY TASKS: Demonstrates a high level of understanding of both basic and advanced process control concepts and technologies. Proactively enforces Yokogawa procedures (ISO, Engineering Standards, Safety, etc.) and work methodologies for all site activities. Demonstrates knowledge of industry standards and emerging practices that apply to control systems and to automation in general. Serves as a personal example of frugal and efficient time management, and reports time promptly and accurately as required by company policies. Understands, follows, and continuously promotes safe work practices. Performs other tasks as assigned. DIMENSION Knowledge and experience of working on Distributed Controls Systems, Safety Instrumented Systems, Plant Historians, Alarm Management Solutions is important. Utilizing systemic thinking to solve complex problems fully understanding the effect of decisions at a department or organizational level. Applies and develops technical skills and provides technical expertise to the customer. Contributions are primarily technical rather than managerial. May be involved in guiding strategies. Ensures cooperation and interaction across diverse stakeholders both internal and external to the organization, often managing conflicting interests. Candidates with experience in Yokogawa automation systems is a big plus. SPECIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: BS degree in Engineering and 10 or more years of experience. Qualifications: This position is recognized as a subject matter expert across the organization. Additionally, must be able to work with internal and/or external clients in understanding their needs. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the environment is reasonable.
