Resource Center Coordinator & Support
This position reports to: Case Manager
Employee Status: Non-exempt part-time hourly position (between 24 and 32 hours/week)
Morning shift 6:30a - 2:30p AND Afternoon Shift 11:30a - 7:30p includes one or both weekend days each week and holidays (at 2x pay) that fall during regular scheduled days.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Resource Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Resource Center, providing supportive Case Management, and, when necessary, backup to the kitchen. This individual will help with guest needs, providing access to guests for the donation center and laundry facilities, and other cleaning as needed. They will also assist guests with applications for housing IDs and other benefits as time permits. They will also guide guests towards volunteer opportunities within the shelter.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist guests with Resource Center needs:
Ensure access to guests for bathroom, laundry and donation center (clothing and personal care items)
Work with the Case Manager to schedule meetings with guests for additional support
Work with Kitchen Staff or Shelter Floater to cover Resource Center and Kitchen needs as they arise, including supporting Guest Volunteer sign-ups for identified jobs in the Kitchen
2. Assist with Maintaining records for shelter reporting:
Ensure proper logging of facility use of bathroom, shower & laundry facilities
Log guests who receive items from donation center
Notate issues from guests or maintenance concerns
Maintain daily Resource Center log for reporting and communication purposes
Support data entry into Mission Tracker and HMIS for grant reporting purposes
3. Maintain clean and safe environment inside shelter:
Disinfect high-trafficked surfaces in common areas
Provide guidance for guest cleaning of the RC and RC bathrooms, including sweeping & mopping, providing access to cleaning supplies as needed
Be alert and vigilant to possible issues or safety concerns
Communicate with Shelter and Resource Center staff and volunteers about schedules, inventory needs, problems that guests might be experiencing, etc.
Regularly report to the Operations Manager and other staff regarding all shelter and resource center activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
Desire to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors during this time of uncertainty and beyond
High level of empathy and understanding for people experiencing homelessness and presenting with multiple and urgent case management needs, substance use, health, and/or mental health concerns
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision
Solid written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent phone manner
Ability to confidently and calmly handle any emergencies or mitigate/diffuse any situations that may arise with guests or volunteers during your shift
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Nonprofit, customer service, shelter or security work experience or volunteering and community service experience a plus but not required
Experience with database management a plus
Interest in and commitment to Hundred Nights mission
The position entails interaction and communication with staff, guests and occasionally members of the community. The position requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
