Prototype Process Engineer

Meta Robotics Studio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prototype Process Engineer to join our team. As a Prototype Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a cross-functional product design team, focusing on hands-on assembly, process development, and prototype build setup. You will act as a key liaison between design intent and scaling production.Minimum QualificationsBS or MS degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in consumer electronic productsExperience with hardware development cycle and sustaining hardwareExperience in manufacturing assembly and test developmentPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience optimizing design of existing products or devicesExperience with optical electro-mechanical systemsExperience with building cross-functional relationshipsExperience with driving for results, motivation, and urgencyResponsibilitiesSupport a cross-functional product design team with hands-on assemblyDevelop process flows and quality work instructions for prototype buildsIdentify fixturing and tooling needs for prototype assemblySetup and manage prototype builds from start to finishWork embedded with engineering teams during initial unit builds to ensure design intent is maintained and to facilitate updates to the scale lineAct as the conduit for design intent and updates between engineering and the scale lineSupport troubleshooting and field service questions for downstream issuesServe as the primary point of contact for issues found by usersCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaborationEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standardsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectivenessAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
